Everything you need to know about referrals, appointments, fees and what to expect when visiting Dr Sultan Linjawi's endocrinology practice.

Yes, a valid referral from your GP or another specialist is required to book an appointment. This also allows you to claim a Medicare rebate.

GP referrals are valid for 12 months and a specialist referral is valid for 3 months.

Appointments can be booked by calling or emailing our clinic. Please ensure your referral has been sent prior to booking.

Wait times can vary depending on demand and urgency. Urgent referrals are prioritised and reviewed by the specialist.

The current wait time is approximately 6 weeks.

Please bring:

  • Your referral letter
  • Medicare card, DVA card, NDSS number and licence details where applicable
  • Recent blood test results, imaging and pump and sensor reports
  • A list of current medications

Initial consultations are approximately 45 minutes to allow for a comprehensive assessment.

Your GP may arrange any necessary tests prior to your appointment. If further investigations are required, these will be discussed with you during your consultation.

Yes, telehealth consultations are available for eligible patients. A valid referral is still required.

Our clinic is a private billing practice. Fees vary depending on the consultation type, and Medicare rebates are available with a valid referral.

Dr Linjawi sees patients with a range of conditions, including:

  • Diabetes — Type 1, Type 2, Gestational, Borderline
  • Weight management
  • Thyroid disorders
  • Osteoporosis
  • Hormone disorders — adrenal and pituitary, PCOS, reproductive hormone conditions

Please provide at least 24–48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee.

Late arrivals may result in a shortened consultation or require rescheduling to avoid delays for other patients.

Many endocrine conditions require ongoing management. Your specialist will advise on appropriate follow-up intervals.

Yes, we provide detailed reports to your referring GP after your consultation to ensure continuity of care.
